About us
Born out of passion
Verjus-Shop was founded in 2011 by IT specialist Markus Steinbäcker. He discovered verjus in 2005 through a Persian friend – verjus can still be found in every kitchen in Persia today. Because he was immediately enthusiastic about the product, he bought his own vineyard and has been a part-time winegrower, verjus producer and founder of the Graz Verjus Shop ever since.
Together with Irene Biricz, we not only offer the world’s largest selection of verjus products, we also want to use this platform to provide information about verjus, information about events, recipes, introductions to producers and new products, tastings and events.
